While in the game, type in thunder.
Then hold down left alt and press F7.
Now you see the whole map.

Cheat Code:

In the game hold down the SHIFT key and type in THUNDER. 
From then on you can pick the speed of the game by typing 
1-6 (6 being the fastest) Which will speed up the building 
of your little people a lot.
